ANNOUNCES GRANT CYCLE
(February 27, 2008 – Phoenix,
AZ) Social Venture
Partners Teens, part of Social Venture Partners Arizona, a Phoenix-based
venture philanthropy network, will be seeking grant applications from qualified
nonprofits or organizations serving the metropolitan Phoenix
area focusing on child abuse prevention. The funding priority includes:
- Organizations that focus on preventing and providing
solutions for abuse towards children from birth to 18. This may include
requests for operating support, program specific funds or supplies,
equipment or capital.
Requests between $4000 and $5000
will be considered. Those wishing to apply for the current grant cycle should
complete an online application at The Arizona Community Foundation,

for Social Venture Partners) The cycle will be open for applications
until March 27, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

SVP Teens is a youth philanthropic program of Social Venture
Partners Over a 9-month period, participants ages, 11-18, are
empowered to independently pick an issue of importance to them, raise the grant money they will invest, educate themselves on their
issue with articles and guest speakers, write a grant application with specific
giving priorities, rate the returned proposals and conduct site visits to the
top rated agencies. All decisions are made by the teen members.
SVP Arizona is a venture philanthropy organization consisting of
more than 100 partners who invest their money, time and talent in early-stage
nonprofit organizations and then apply their human capital to develop them into
sustainable organizations. To date, SVPAZ has invested just over $3 Million in 27 nonprofits focused on Education and Children in
the Phoenix metropolitan area.
